Let us work together to keep our environment safe, healthy, and beautiful for our generation and beyond.

Materials You Can Recycle

Metals
The most common material recycled is metals. The easiest and most common metals you can recycle are aluminum, steel and tin. When you recycle metals you are saving our environment from mining which damages the environment and produces pollution.

Glass*
We all use items that have glass containers. Glass can be recycled from a variety of products. Glass is initially made from sand, and transforming the sand into a glass object requires a lot of energy. Making glass object such as jars and bottles from recycled glass is much more energy efficient.

Paper*
Atlanta is very dependant on residents recycling their paper. There are so many products that contain paper…newspapers, toilet paper, food packaging, and more. These were produced using trees. In the United States we cut down billions of trees every year just to produce the things that Americas use every day. Recycling can cause less pollution and is better for the environment, for both soil and forests. These issues can be reduced by simply recycling your everyday paper products.

Materials That Can NOT Be Recycled

We have not perfected the technology to break down items with several different materials all in one product. Then there are some materials that can not be broken down to make new materials. The most common items that can not be recycled include aerosol cans, juice boxes and plastic ketchup bottles.

Making Money Recycling Metal

First, to recycling metal the first test is to determine if the metals is ferrous or nonferrous metal. This can be determined by using a magnet. If the magnet sticks to the metal, it is a ferrous metal. You will be paid per pound for ferrous scrap metals. If the magnet does not attach to the metal, it is nonferrous. You will be paid a higher price per pound for nonferrous metals that you being into Marietta Recycling. You will want to make sure you properly clean and separate all of the metal in order to receive the highest payment.

*Note: At Marietta Recycling we do not recycle glass, plastic, or paper. We definitely support recycling of these products to help the environment and community.
