VEHICLE SALVAGE AT MARIETTA RECYCLING CENTER

Before bringing a vehicle to Marietta Recycling Center, the CUSTOMER is responsible for the following:

  • Making a baseball size hole in gas tank.
  • Having the Freon properly removed. (NO Freon is allowed to be expelled on the property!)
  • Remove the battery.  We will purchase the battery for the current market value on the day that the vehicle was brought in.

When a vehicle is brought in to Marietta Recycling Center; we perform a thorough inspection to insure that there is a sizable hole in the gas tank, there is no Freon present, and also that the battery has been removed.  After the vehicle has been inspected, it is taken back to the steel yard and unloaded.  Before it is baled it is checked for Mercury Switches.  They can be found in the hood, truck, and behind the vanity mirrors.  If any Mercury Switches are found, they are pulled out of the car.  They are then brought in separately to be sent to a Mercury recovery center; there they are properly disposed of.

NOTE:

** All vehicles that are a 1995 and newer are required to have a title.  The title must also be signed over to the seller’s name.

*** All of the above referenced requirements MUST be done BEFORE the vehicle is unloaded on the property.

**** Marietta Recycling Center will not accept any vehicles that are leaking any hazardous materials upon arrival.  Including but not limited to gasoline, oil, and Freon.
