The vehicles salvage services we offer for the Atlanta metropolitan area emphasizes a dedication to safe and environmentally conscious recycling for vehicles.

Before you bring your vehicle in for recycling, there are a few requirements that need to be completed by the owner of the vehicle first before you bring the vehicle to our location. You must first remove the battery from you car. Keep in mind that our recycling center will buy the battery from you at its current market value, so you bring the battery with you, but separate from the car. You must also make a baseball sized hole in your gas tank and have the Freon properly removed. No Freon is allowed to be discharged anywhere on the Marietta Recycling Center’s property.

When you bring in your vehicle our staff will perform a thorough inspection to ensure each of the above requirements is met. After the inspection, the vehicle will be taken into the steel yard and unloaded. It is checked for Mercury Switches before it is baled.

For Vehicles Keep In Mind

Before you bring your vehicle in, keep in mind that any vehicle made in 1998 or later must have a title that has been signed over to the seller’s name. Note: 1998 and newer require titles (by Ga law). Also, Marietta Recycling Center does not accept any vehicle that may be leaking hazardous fluids, including oil, gasoline and Freon. This makes it imperative that all vehicle requirements are completed before the vehicle arrives at our facility.

During our inspection we will make sure there is a properly-sized hole in the gas tank, no traces of Freon, or that the battery is not still hooked up. If the vehicle does not pass inspection then we will be unable to purchase your vehicle.

If, however, you have taken these precautionary measures and the salvaged vehicle is deemed non-hazardous, it will be taken to the steel yard, unloaded and inspected for Mercury Switches. Mercury Switches contain hazardous toxins and must be removed before a junk car can be baled to prevent potential mercury spills. Once removed, the Mercury Switches will be transported and appropriately disposed of at a mercury recovery facility.

The above requirements are not difficult to carry out before arriving at our location. These steps are very important, since they eliminate the risk of hazardous wastes being released and prevent environment contamination. Through these steps and precautions, we are both doing our part in taking care of the environment. We at Marietta Recycling enjoy keeping our high standards of environmental safety for our community’s well being. This also benefits our employee’s safety. We recognize the significance of keeping our local area free of toxic materials.
